LAST CHANCE to complete YouthAdvance’s VIRTUAL Residential Project in 2022!

Due to COVID Restrictions in 2021, YouthAdvance put together an amazing 5 day personal growth and development course for all of our Duke of Ed participants.

This is a COVID Safe course utilising the COVID concession for the Residential Project and will be held virtually. Our October course will run over 5 CONSECUTIVE DAYS in the school holidays so this is particularly good news for students who can’t take time off school or don’t want to take up 2 weekends!

Participants who complete the YouthAdvance Residential Project will complete the following courses:

  1. HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
  2. Apply Fatigue Management Strategies
  3. Recognise Healthy Body Systems

These courses are designed to help our participants to live, eat and keep healthy while learning about fatigue management which is so important during school and university study as well as into the workforce and life. In addition, YouthAdvance strongly believes that all Australians should have a fundamental first aid knowledge base and so we will also provide all participants with a Provide First Aid accreditation.

Team building exercises and other fun team exercises will be incorporated into the learning throughout the Residential Project. We believe that all our participants will complete this course with improved self awareness, improved knowledge and an improved #WorldReady attitude.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

  • Issue of certificates and statement of attainment for nationally recognised units of competency;
  • All course paperwork resources;
  • All first aid consumables;
  • Facilitation of this 5 day event by our qualified and experienced trainers; and
  • Participants keep their quality Fast Aid first aid kit for personal use.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Residential Project will deliver the following three courses. We will tailor these programs to the participants so that it is focussed more on their everyday life at school/university and what they can expect to encounter.

YouthAdvance will also have team building games and exercises spread throughout the course to have fun and build communication between participants as well.

HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid

The course covers assessing the casualty, providing safety, accessing emergency services, and using resources to provide first aid, such as providing CPR and using a defibrillator, management of some medical conditions including asthma, choking, anaphylaxis as well as immobilisation techniques for snake bite, fractures, sprains and strains and bleeding.

Apply Fatigue Management Strategies

This course provides the skills and knowledge required to individuals to identify and act on signs of fatigue within the workplace, including school and study. There will be some specific management strategies for identification of fatigue during activities such as driving.

Recognise Healthy Body Systems

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to work with basic information about the human body and to recognise and promote ways to maintain healthy functioning of the body. Participants will learn about the basic structure and functions of the body systems and associated components, the processes, conditions and resources required by the body to support healthy functioning, protection from infection and active and passive physical activity.
