Snowy Mountains

One of our Pinnacle Program locations is in the Snowy Mountains, in southern NSW. Our amazing Gold Adventurous Journey will run out of Kosciuszko National Park, a unique alpine wonderland of rivers, mountains, ski fields, caves, and glacial lakes. The journey will begin near Round Mountain and head through The Jagungal Wilderness. This a large wilderness region full of animals and you can hike amongst the plains and snow gums and take the time to absorb the views of Mount Jagungal and the beautiful snowy region.

During the early part of this adventurous journey we will be intending to summit the great Mount Jagungal. With an elevation of 2,061 metres above sea level, it is the seventh-highest mountain in Australia and surpasses any elevation in the nearby region other than the main range with spectacular views out over the region. The adventure continues passing through, and staying at, some of the more than 200 hut scattered throughout the region.

The expedition will head through parts of the Main Range passing Blue Lake and towards Mt Kosciuszko which is Australia’s highest mountain at 2,228 metres above sea level.  You’ll pass some of the oldest snow gums in the Park, heather and boulder fields that are home to rare mountain pygmy possums. The trip will, weather and time permitting, conclude with a sunrise summit of the mountain on the final day which is sure to be a highlight of the hike.
