Our Fees

This page provides an overview of the fees that are required to complete the Duke of Ed Award. The fees vary depending on the level you are selecting, whether you have done the Award before and which membership you choose.

Fees to Complete the Award:

Each of these fees are explained in more detail below

1. YouthAdvance Membership Fee

We offer two Membership Structures so that participants and their families can choose the level of support that is suited to their needs.

Standard Membership

This is a completion driven membership. This means it has a higher level of support for our participants as we look to move them through their Award level in the minimum timeframe and work towards achieving multiple Award Levels to the benefit of the student and their school.
YouthAdvance completion rate using this membership model is 84% (this is 30% higher than the Duke of Ed Australian average)

Cost:

Fees for the Standard Membership: an initial upfront YouthAdvance membership fee listed in the Cost Table below. Following the initial minimum timeframe, you will be moved onto a monthly fee of $60 per month until the completion of that level.

Award LevelContinuing Student*New (Direct Entrant)^Monthly Fee – $60/mth
Bronzen/a$350after 7 mths
Silver$350$650after 7 mths or 13 mths DE
Gold$650$950after 13 mths or 19 mths DE

*Please use the “Continuing” student column if you have previously completed a Duke of Ed Level. If you have previously completed a level but your ORB has been deactivated, there will be a $75 administration fee
^Please use the “New (Direct Entrant)” student column if you have not completed a Duke of Ed Level before

Basic Membership

This is a Self-Driven membership and it is not available for Bronze Students, or those new to the Award due to the high level of support required for Bronze and new Award participants. While this membership level has a higher accessibility to more young Australians because it is more affordable, it doesn’t come with the level of service offered in the Standard Membership and is therefore more of a DIY Award membership structure. This membership tier is designed for participants who have previously completed a level of the award AND are self driven, with a high level of initiation and are motivated to complete the Award with limited support from YouthAdvance.

Cost:

Fees for the Basic Membership include: an initial upfront YouthAdvance membership fee listed in the Cost Table below. If you haven’t completed the level in the extended timeframe, the fee will be charged again and the timeframe reset.

2. State Registration Fee

Please note that you will be charged a separate and additional State Registration Fee. This fee covers access to the Online Record Book (the platform to log hours for the Award) and covers certificate and badge costs.

Some states require that you pay through us (and you will do this at registration), however other states, including NSW, you pay directly to the State when you register for an Online Record Book account.

You can review the State Registration Fees HERE.

3. Adventurous Journey (camp) Fee

Adventures Journey fees are dependent on the AJ that you choose – please have a look HERE

You will need to allow for equipment for the camps. Equipment rental options are available for all YouthAdvance journeys via our Store).

An external AJ Fee may be charged should a participant wish to complete an adventurous journey that is not a YouthAdvance or YouthAdvance endorsed journey.
