HIRE DURATION AND PROCESS
Hire gear will be made available on Day 1 of the program – it will be brought to the beginning of program, whether that is at YouthAdvance HQ, program location or at your school. Students will be given time at the beginning of Day 1 on Program to pack their hire gear into their backpack with assistance from our Guides, as required.
Students who have hired a backpack can bring their clothes and other items in a separate bag and transfer into the backpack on Day 1.
Please check all pockets for personal items, food and other leftovers. Washing the gear isn’t necessary, but please make sure gear is dry and excess dirt, sand and plant material is brushed off or shaken out. We reserve the right to charge for lost or unreturned gear at the weekly pro-rata rate until goods are returned or the retail price is paid in full. Damaged gear will also attract charges, with payment in line with the cost of repair.

How to measure your back length.
Stand straight against a door or wall. Place a book midway between the neck and shoulder, and use a pencil to mark this height.
Use your thumb to find the iliac crest (the highest point of the hip bone) and mark this height on the wall.
Measure the distance between the two marks.
